Privacy policy.
This notice describes how Horizon Software AS accesses, collects, stores, uses and shares your personal information when you use our services — and the rights you have over that data.
Last updated 15 January 2026
This Privacy Notice for Horizon Software AS (“we”, “us” or “our”) describes how and why we might access, collect, store, use and/or share (“process”) your personal information when you use our services (“Services”), including when you visit our website at horizonsoftware.no, or engage with us in other related ways such as marketing or events.
Reading this notice will help you understand your privacy rights and choices. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Services. If you have any questions, contact us at info@horizonsoftware.no.
01What information do we collect?
Personal information you disclose to us
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you express an interest in our products and Services, participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise contact us. Depending on the context, this may include:
- names
- phone numbers
- email addresses
Sensitive information. We do not process sensitive information. All personal information you provide must be true, complete and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes.
Information automatically collected
Some information — such as your IP address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our Services. This does not reveal your specific identity but may include device and usage information, operating system, language preferences and referring URLs. It is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services, and for internal analytics and reporting. We collect this information through cookies and similar technologies.
02How do we process your information?
We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, depending on how you interact with our Services, including:
- To respond to enquiries and offer support — to answer your questions and resolve any issues with the Services you request.
- To deliver our Services — to provide you with the service you have requested.
- To send marketing and promotional communications — in line with your preferences. You can opt out at any time.
- To protect our Services — including fraud monitoring and prevention.
- To request feedback — to contact you about your use of our Services.
03What legal bases do we rely on?
We only process your personal information when we have a valid legal reason to do so under applicable law. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requires us to explain the legal bases we rely on:
- Consent — where you have given us permission to use your information for a specific purpose. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Performance of a contract — where processing is necessary to fulfil our contractual obligations to you.
- Legitimate interests — where processing is reasonably necessary to achieve our legitimate business interests and does not override your rights, such as supporting marketing, diagnosing problems and improving the Services.
- Legal obligations — where processing is necessary to comply with our legal obligations.
- Vital interests — where processing is necessary to protect your or another person’s vital interests.
If you are located in Canada
We may process your information if you have given us express permission to use it for a specific purpose, or in situations where your permission can be inferred (implied consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time.
In some exceptional cases, we may be legally permitted under applicable law to process your information without your consent — for example, for fraud detection and prevention, for business transactions, or where required to comply with a subpoena, warrant or court order.
04When and with whom do we share information?
We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company. Where we use service providers, we do so under a written contract that protects your information.
05Do we use cookies and tracking?
We use a small number of cookies and local storage entries that are strictly necessary for the Services to work: remembering your language choice, and — on the contact form — verifying you're not a bot (Cloudflare Turnstile). These do not require consent under applicable law, and they're the only ones active by default.
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept all cookies or continue with only the necessary ones. If we later add analytics or marketing tools, we'll ask for your consent again before any such cookie is set — you can review or change your choice any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer.
06How long do we keep your information?
We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax or accounting requirements). We will not keep your information for longer than twenty-four (24) months past the termination of your relationship with us. When we no longer have a legitimate need to process it, we will delete or anonymise it, or securely store and isolate it until deletion is possible.
07How do we keep your information safe?
We have implemented appropriate technical and organisational security measures designed to protect the personal information we process. However, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise that unauthorised third parties will never defeat our security. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.
08Do we collect information from minors?
We do not knowingly collect data from, or market to, children under 18 years of age. By using the Services you represent that you are at least 18, or that you are the parent or guardian of a minor and consent to their use of the Services. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a user under 18, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to delete the data. If you believe we may have collected such data, contact us at info@horizonsoftware.no.
09What are your privacy rights?
In some regions (such as the EEA, UK and Switzerland) you have rights under applicable data protection law. These may include the right to request access to and a copy of your personal information, to request rectification or erasure, to restrict or object to processing, and — where applicable — to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@horizonsoftware.no.
Withdrawing consent. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time by contacting us. This will not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.
Opting out of marketing. You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time via the unsubscribe link in our emails, or by contacting us. We may still send you service-related messages.
If you are located in the EEA or UK and believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
10Controls for Do-Not-Track features
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and applications include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. No uniform technology standard for recognising and implementing DNT signals has been finalised. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online.
If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this notice.
11US residents’ privacy rights
If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah or Virginia, you may have the right to request access to and details about the personal information we hold about you, to correct inaccuracies, to obtain a copy of, or to delete your personal information, and to withdraw your consent to our processing. These rights may be limited in some circumstances by applicable law.
